Queen’s University Students’ Union

Located on Queen’s University Campus, this is no normal student union bar.  While midweek brings the usual student offerings, the weekends are home of Shine, one of Ireland’s biggest club nights.  For almost 2 decades, Shine has been bringing the biggest names in house and techno to Ireland; including Pete Tong, Carl Cox and Soulwax.  It has recently expanded and hosts different nights at venues across the city, but when a big-name DJ is in town, it returns to the spiritual home of Queen’s University Students’ Union.

The venue can hold over 2000 club-goers.  The crowd goes mad, as commercially popular DJs rarely make it to Ireland, and you can expect a night of hands-in-the-air partying.  It’s not flashy, nor is it intimate and grimy, but when Shine comes to Queen’s, the crowd make sure it’s an unforgettable party.  Check the listings as big nights are irregular.
