Reading Rooms

Reading Rooms is housed in a former public library and has been running since 2002. With exposed brick work and a retro interior, the club has a warehouse-style feel and has been attracting some of Scotland’s finest DJ talent for the past decade. Different nights bring different promoters and genres of electronic music, always focused on the underground. Arguably the most successful night is long running Headway, which plays house and techno and has brought the likes of Timo Mass and Green Velvet to Dundee.

With a capacity of just 350, the party is always intimate and attracts a crowd that loves the music. On certain nights you’ll hear dubstep, reggae, and dancehall, and they’re previous guest DJ lists read like a who’s-who of electronic music. Carl Craig, DJ Yoda, Jazzy Jeff, and Mount Kimbie are just some of the varied acts that have rocked the Reading Rooms’ crowd. It’s one of Scotland’s finest clubs, and after 11 years there is no let-up in the quality of the nights.
