The Arts Garage

The motivation to make the The Arts Garage came in response to the then Philadelphia Mayor, John F. Street, who made a call to Philadelphians to join in “an unique chance to reconsider Philadelphia neighborhoods and develop options which will make them lively, exciting and desirable communities.”

In 1996, the Arts Garage jumped at this challenge by taking on one of the very long-deserted city blocks within the Francisville section of North Philadelphia.

What was the end result?

The end result was the birth of a supporting arts community for showcasing budding artists. This is a spot where, prior to sunset, art dealers, retailers, theater, movie and performance artists can make themselves available and accessible to any or all Philadelphians as well as the City’s robust tourism marketplace. Right after sunset, “night time is the perfect time” the setting changes into a party all night atmosphere with DJ dance music.

Past guests have described The Arts Garage as being inexpensive with a Hipster/Trendy ambiance. Music ranges from DJ, Live, Background and even Karaoke. Regardless of what is music is playing over their state-of-the-art sound system, people who have frequented The Arts Garage say that it is great for dancing with an average noise level.
If you are worried about parking, put those worries aside. The Arts Garage has you covered with private parking lot which tends to be busier on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights, as these are the most popular nights.
