About The Delancey

The Delancey offers a rare breed of clubs; a surprisingly nice rock venue without any hassle of velvet ropes. It has a three-level playground that offers various spaces for the contrasting Lower East elements to blend together. During the summer months, the bar draws a lot of people towards its rooftop. Unlike other bars that hype their rooftops as “al fresco,” this one offers more of a South Beach type of style with fountains and benches. The main floor has a grotto vibe and the décor presents equal parts of sleek wooden slats and exposed brick. The DJ holds the court and mostly plays a mix of disco and rock, while the bartender hands $6 Stella Artois bottles to downtowners. They also have a basement performance space that is reminiscent of the Coney Island High. The crowd mostly consists of club kids and party girls. There are occasional hipsters along with well-off professionals. The dress code is cool and casual with jeans, t-shirts, and tank tops. Jackets, funky dresses, blouses, and boots are all welcome here.
